The Guarneri quartet was the best in America, and perhaps the world, for years until they retired. Their name was given to them by the Budapest String Quartet as a token of their respect when the Budapest retired. Their rendition of these three French quartets is wonderful. And the music itself is captivating. This is a must-buy: it will only increase in value to the listener now that the group has disbanded.
