Put the poles up. Not sure if they are going to be strong enough to hold shade sail. The bad part the bottom of the poles is ready showing rust. The poles have been up one week.I am using this pole for shapes for my kids’ playground. The poles are thick and very sturdy, but very easy to assembly. It is very nice that it came with the stainless steel drawcord that we use to connect the shape to the slide side. Highly recommended!Robust shade mast for easy installation. recommend itThese poles come in sections so it’s easy to ship, but they are not “Heavy Duty” quality. Just trying to put tension on our shade sail caused a failure at the first joint. I’m out several hours of my time and the cost of post mix. You’ll be better off getting a solid steel post in one piece or using lumber. Don’t make the same mistake I did, still waiting for seller to respond for return and refund. The poles are actually not as strong as the pictures make them to be. The thickness of the connection is actually 1/3 of what the thickness shown in the pictures. The welds at the base are badly made tack welds. The poles bent at the joints, because again, it's very cheaply made. The poles were mounted with the additional joint brackets, which was also very thin and unstable. I returned these with a week of installing them.sturdy shade pole sailsStill working after a storm! recommend himSo far, experienced a strong windy weather, still in good condition, I highly recommend it!one of the poles internally) and its corresponding parts are bent… didn’t realize until installed . and tapping screws mushroomed out when installing and now i cant UN-install them
